about

lingobaby evolved from an idea by Modern Languages teacher, Fiona Moffatt. As a keen linguist, Fiona knew the benefits of introducing a range of language sounds to her baby son, Ruairi as early as possible. Whilst Fiona could do this at home with her own language skills, she wanted to find a toddler group for Ruairi where he could have some exposure to another language whilst - importantly - enjoying the company of other young children. After a fruitless search, Fiona used her teaching expertise to develop a dynamic and multi-sensory programme which has gone on to earn media accolade in the UK, mainland Europe and the USA for its provision of a foreign language experience in infancy, a first for Scotland.

lingobaby sessions have been developed to appeal to the interests of very young children whilst taking into account their needs and capabilities. lingobaby offers a happy and stimulating language experience where the joys of discovering new language sounds, rhythms and words will stay with your child for many years to come.
"I have taken my son Rowan (3) to lingobaby for the past year and he has picked up a lot of French words very easily. He enjoys the rhymes, songs and games so has fun in French while learning. He frequently sings the French songs unprompted and often uses French words such as saying rouge instead of red when we're at home. Recently his nursery had an "I Can Do It Week" and he sang the rainbow song in French to his friends. I have also found myself learning French at the same time which is an added bonus. We will definately be back after the summer holidays" Ann Murdoch, Stirling
"My nineteen month old daughter has attended lingobaby in Linlithgow since the classes started. I've been given the confidence to speak French, on a daily basis, to my child. Fiona's informal and child-centred style of working with the children, plus her collection of bilingual toys has made the classes enjoyable for my wee girl. I sing the songs I've learnt at lingobaby and she obviously recognises them." Esther Hughes, Linlithgow
